NotesThis obit came from the Lois Stanford British Home Child Collection.............................................................................................Molly Billings,96.....Mary "Molly Billings",96 died at Sherwood Park Manor on February 26. She was born April 17,1910 in Ayrshire,Scotland to Andrew McLuskey and the former Helen Beveridge.Orphaned at an early age,she was raised and educated at the Quarriers Village orphanage in Glasgow,Scotland.In 1925 when she was just 15,she and her sister Helen left England with other Quarrier children and came to Brockville to seek a better life and future. Eventually in March 1943 she married Clifford Harold Billings and became a homemaker and mother of six. She also worked in the Brockville General Hospital laundry and was a Red Cross Homecare worker. Mrs.Billings was mmember oof Wall Street United Church.For more than 40 years she was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 96,Brockville. She was also an honorary member of the Senior Citizens Club of Brockville. She is survived by five of her children: Harry James Billings and partner Heather of Brockville,Ernest Andrew Billings of Kingston,Helen Margaret Sargent and husband Wallace of RR3 Brockville,Laura Anna Blair of Brockville and Charles Edward Billings and wife Anita of Ogdensburg,NY.Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren survive. She was predeceased by her husband Clifford Billings, her son Robert Henry Billings and her sister Helen "Nellie" McLuskey. Friends called at the Irvine Funeral Home,Brockville,prior to the February 28 funeral in the Irvine Chapel,at which Rev.June Craig,of Wall Street United Church officiated. Burial followed at Oakland Cemetery. The pallbearers were Barry Blair,Mike Telgen,Wayne Hayden and Mitchell Hayden.
