NotesThe following records have been discerned for Private Samuel Spargo. Canadian Virtual War Memorial states that Samuel was the son of the late Nicholas and Jane Spargo.

1901 English Census records place Samuel (6) and John (8) Spargo as boarders in the household of Mary and George Fear in Bluntisham, Somersham, Huntingdonshire, England. Both boys state they were born in London, England.

Attestation papers were signed 12 Oct 1915 in Leamington, Ontario. Samuel Spargo was born 15 Jul 1894 in Holyhead, Wales. His Next of Kin was his sister, Jessie Spargo of 10 East Peabody Building, Lawrence Street, Chealsea, England. His occupation was listed as Farmer. 5' 8 1/2" in height with brown eyes and dark brown hair. His religion was listed as Church of England.

Commonwealth War Graves Registers states Samuel was Killed in Action. His final resting place was unknown, his name is listed on the Vimy Memorial, Vimy, Nord Pas de Calais, France.
