In 1883, William Charles Flower, 13, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 11 young persons sent by various institutions.

"Sixteenth Annual Report of the Local Government Board, 1886-87; Copy of Reports of Inspection of Children sent out to Canada, as of February 12, 1887.

Report of Mr. Samuel Gardner, Government Immigration Agent at St. John, New Brunswick.

William C. Flower, aged 17. From Barton Regis Union. Placed with John L. Gunter on 15th July 1883, still there.?I visited William C. Flower, found him driving a yoke of oxen ; still living with J. L. Gunter, Springfield, King's County. Talked with him; he is well contented, likes his situation much, is small of his age, now 17, he was placed on 15th July 1883 as 14 years old, is in good health. Mr. Gunter clothes him well, &c. Found it would not do to give him money, as he spent it in buying trash, candies, &c. He now gives him an interest in stock, sheep, cows, &c. As these accumulate, he will have something to look forward to as he grows older and knows better how to use his earnings.

On February 17, 1897, at Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, a marriage was registered between William C. Flowers, 26, cartman, born in England to William Flowers (mother unknown); and Jessie Wilson, 26, widow, born in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, to William and Jessie McKenzie. Alfred Carloss, [another home child who was a shipmate to William Flowers in 1883] was witness to the marriage.

William Charles and Jessie McKenzie Flowers had at least 5 children: Arthur Gordon Flowers, born January 23, 1909, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada; Hazel Beatrice Flowers, born December 19, 1897, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada; William Gordon Douglas Flowers, born February 3, 1903, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada; and Jessie Pearl Flowers, born February 13, 1901.

Jessie McKenzie Flowers, 42, died on April 19, 1913, at Carmathen Street, Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, of consumption of the stomach.

On January 31, 1917, at Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, a marriage was registered between William Charles Flowers, 46, janitor, widower, born in Bristol, England, to William C. and Jessie Flowers; and Rebecca Campbell, 48, widow, born in Shannon Settlement, New Brunswick, Canada, to George and Rachel Earle.

Rebecca Earle Flowers died on April 15, 1938, at Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.

William C. Flowers died on July 30, 1945, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. [Registration 53812.]
