Attestation papers signed 21 Aug 1915 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. George Frederick Shepherd was born in 23 Jun 1897 in London, England. A farmer by trade. He was currently serving in the Royal Canadian Regiment. Next of Kin was his sister, Minnie Hugas. 5'6" in height with hazel eyes and brown hair. His religion was listed as Methodist.

Commonwealth War Graves Registers confirms he was Killed in Action. His final resting place is unknown, his name is recorded on the Vimy Memorial.
