Parents: James Alexander Franks and Amy Marion Field, married 1880 in Pancras, London, England.

In 1904, V. Franks, 11, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 131 Barnardo girls en route to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

On November 6, 1918, at Lindsay, Victoria, Canada, a marriage was registered between Violet Franks, 26, housekeeper, born in London, England, to James Franks and Amy Field; and James Donaldson Crawford, 29, machinist, born in Edinboro, Scotland, to John N. Crawford and Jane Donaldson.

James Donaldson Crawford died on July 9, 1927, at the age of 38 of myocardial failure and cerebro spinal meningitis, in Ontario, Canada. He was buried in Union Cemetery, Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.
