NotesIn 1881, Frederick Millard, 11, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 62 Middlemore children en route to London, Ontario, Canada. (Brother, Walter Millard, 10, arrived on the Sardinian in 1876 and was sent the Guthrie Home, London, Ontario, Canada.)

His mother Phoebe and sister Eliza Agnes came to London and they lived together for a bit (1891 census). They must have had some contact after he left Birmingham. Phoebe's husband had died, about three years before Walter was sent to Canada. Phoebe Millard died of heart disease on September 7, 1902, at 662 Marshall Street, Middlesex, Ontario, Canada.

Years later, my great grandfather, a nephew to Walter and Frederick, came to London looking for work. It would appear that his uncles were the main reason he came here, as there was no other apparent reason, and his descendants, including me, are all still here.

On September 26, 1894, at London Township, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Frederick Millard, 24, farmer, born in England to James and Phoebe Millard; and Jennie L. McFarlane, 18, born in London Township, Ontario, Canada, to Archibald and Hulda McFarlane. Walter Millard was a witness to the marriage.

Frederick Millard died about 1905. His widow, Jennie, and his son, Albert Millard, were residing with her mother, Hilda McFarlane, and sister, Annie McFarlane, at 318 1/2 Talbot, London, Ontario, Canada, in 1911.
