A former Brockville resident Eva Adamson died at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Monday February 2 where she had been a patient since the Christmas season. She was the widow of Douglas J.Adamson who predeceased her in 1954. Mrs.Adamson was born in Belfast,Ireland,second daughter of the late Samuel J.Moore and the former Mary Cooke,coming to Canada as a young girl. She attended Brockville Business College,then worked in the government in Ottawa for a number of years.Since the death of her husband,she had traveled extensively,visiting England and Ireland,including her birthplace.She is survived by a son William G.Adamson of Ottawa,and a daughter,Mrs.Norman Knowles (Marian) of Whitehorse,Yukon,and a number of grandchildren,as well as a sister,Mrs.Mary Russell of Riverview Nursing Home,Smiths Falls,formerly of Brockville. She was predeceased by a brother and a number of sisters,including mrs.Ernie Joyce ( Marian) of Victoria.B.C,on February 1,1975. Surviving nieces include Mrs.Eva Gooby of Cambridge-Galt and Mrs.P.W.Dawson ( Betty) of Brockville. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Hulse and Playfair Funeral Home ( Central Chapel) Ottawa,with burial following.
