David Phillip Carey married Victoria Kate Wain, daughter of William Wain and Kate Greasely, about 1918.

At least one child was born of this marriage: Albert William Carey, born August 15, 1919, at Millville, New Brunswick, Canada, died June 7, 1970, at Doaktown, New Brunswick, Canada.

David Phillip Carey, 67, retired, died on August 6, 1956, at Victoria Public Hospital, Fredericton, New Brunswick, of coronary thrombosis, 2 hours duration. His informant was his wife, Victoria K. Carey, 261 Brunswick Street, Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, who stated his date of birth was June 19, 1889; this his father's name was William Carey, and he had been born in England. David Phillip Carey was buried at Douglas Cemetery on August 8, 1956.
