A birth registration was found for Maud Evelyn Barley: Year of Registration: 1880; Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun; District: Poplar (To 1965); County: Greater London, London, Middlesex; Volume: 1c; Page: 654.

In 1881, Maud E. Barley, 1 year of age, was residing at 8 Priscilla Road, Bromley St Leonard, London, England. Other family members included: George Barley, Head, 34, Railway Servant, Lavina Barley, 34, Frank Barley, 10, Helen G. Barley, 8, Percy R. Barley, 3; and Mary L. Barley, 3. According to the Maria Rye report regarding Maud, their Mother (Lavinia) was was remarried to a J(?) Stamford. Miss Rye's report stated "Mother ill unable to care for girl stepfather a bad man."

In 1891, Mary Barley, 14 (along with her sister, Maud Barley, 11), arrived at Quebec, Canada, with a group of of 50 children en route to Niagara-on-the-Lake, via Toronto, Ontario, Canada, accompanied by Miss Soffe matron.

In 1910, Maud Wiles, 31, was residing in New Haven, Gratiot, Michigan, with her husband, Roy Wiles, 34, their four children, Henry Wiles; Engline Wiles, 11; Earnest L. Wiles, 9; and Mabel Wiles, 5, in the home of Roy's mother, Amanda Ronk, 60, and his stepfather, John Ronk, 60.
