On March 28, 1917, in Malton, Peel, Ontario, Canada, Elsie Mills, residing in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, was a witness to the marriage of Elizabeth Ellen Mills and Arthur Gordon Avery.

On February 21, 1922, in Point Seward, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Elsie Mills, 23, born in Brighton, England, daughter of Martin Henry Mills and Ellen Chalk; and Arthur Harry Clarke, 35, widower, labourer, born in Norwich, England, son of George Robert Clarke and Maria Martha Howell.

Elsie Mills' father, Martin Henry Mills, widower, died at the age of 63 years on December 18, 1922, in Sarnia General Hospital, Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. He had immigrated from England to Canada in 1919 and had resided in Point Seward, Ontario, Canada, for 6 months.
