Notes Mother Emily Slack died in 1901. Father Maurice Newman died in 1906. Younger sister Grace and older sister Ellen May were sent to orphanages after their parents deaths. 9 children in all. Frederick went from the Barnardo/Camberwell Union for placement overseas in Quebec, Canada. Final destination on ship's list said Toronto/farming. He ended up in Saskatchewan and stayed there at least until 1922. Last address Waldeck, Saskatchewan. Believed to have returned to England, married, and had two children. He died sometime between 1939 and 1945. His Canadian nephew (son of Ellen May) visited him during the War years in England. Siblings: Ellen May (Scott), Rosina (Colvill), Grace (Linton), Charles Maurice, Elizabeth Florence (Collins) and Emily (Laver). Grandparents: Henry Stocking Newman and Emma Amelia Mills (paternal)and Charles Henry Slack and Emily Foster (maternal). A May Newman was registered next to him when he sailed to Canada. This may be sister Ellen May Newman.
