He declared that he was born in London, England; that his next of kin was his sister, Miss Elizabeth Salmon, who resided at 28 Tenbury Road, Walthamstow, England; that his date of birth was February 20, 1897; that he was a laborer; and that he was not married. He was described as 5 foot 3 inches in height; fair complexion; blue eyes; brown hair. He was a member of the Church of England.
On December 20, 1915, at Belleville, Hastings, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between ; John Arthur Salmon, 19, soldier, born in England, to Arthur Salmon and Elizabeth West; and (another home child) Lillian Margaret Green, 19, born in England to John Green and Ada Cox.
