NotesBritish Home Children Register shows he went to Canada, on Montrose Ship in 1927 aged 14 under the Stephenson organisation, departed port of Liverpool 18.3.1927 arr St John 27.3.1927. District home of National Childrens?s Home & Orphange, Hamilton Ontario ref RG76 C1c microfilm T-14850

On passenger list the next of kin was given as Mother-Mrs E Nye, The Furges, Ticewell, Kent, destination National Children's Home, Hamilton, Ont, intended occupation-farming, birth place given as Linton. It is possible the The Furges could have been Fuze House, the workhouse in Ticewell but not known for sure

His mother was Emily Rose Alice Weller & his father John William Nye. Fred was one of 10 possibly 12 children.
