NotesIn 1920, Stella Henley, 15, arrived at Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, in a group of 100 Barnardo girls (the first group of Home Children to arrive in Canada after World War I) en route to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. She declared she had no relatives in England on the passenger record.

In 1921, Stella Henley, 17, was found residing as a servant in the home of James and Ruth McParland at 145 Madison Avenue, Toronto. Also residing there as a servant was fellow Barnardo girl Kate Langford who arrived in the same year as Stella but with a different party.

On Feb 22 1927, Stella Henley, 22, born England, daughter of Avery Henley and Stella Haydon, married Thomas Charles Kenneth Ness, 26, in Toronto, Ontario
