Notes In 1901, Harry Nunn, 6 years of age, and his brother, Herbert Nunn, 8 years of age, were boarding with William Rowcliffe, 60, potter / stoneware, and his wife, Rose Rowclifee, 51, laundress, at 1 Belmont Terrace, Prittlewell, Essex, England.
It is unclear when Harry arrived in Canada. His brother, Herbert Nunn, had arrived previously in 1907, with Barnardos.
In 1911, Harry Nunn, 13, was shown as a domestic / labourer for Henry Sutton and family in Yarmouth, Elgin East, Ontario, Canada. His date of birth was shown as August 1898, but no immigration year shown as his place of birth is stated as being in Ontario, but this is almost certainly the correct child.
On August 17, 1915, Harry Nunn enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that he had been born in Essex, England; that his next of kin was his brother, Herbert Nunn, who resided at Albert College, Belleville, Ontario, Canada; that his date of birth was August 10, 1897; that he was not married; and that he was a farm labourer. He was described as 5 foot 3-1/2 inches in height; fair complexion; blue eyes; red brown hair. He was a member of the Weslyan faith.
