Attestation papers signed 22 Aug 1915 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Richard M Price was born 4 Oct 1894 in London, Middlesex, England. He was a farmer by trade. His Next of Kin was his Uncle, William Barnes of Dresden, Ontario. He had previous Military experience with the 24th Kent Infantry Regiment. 5'3" in height with grey eyes and dark hair, he had a scar on his chin. His religion was listed as Westleyan.

Commonwealth War Graves Registers and Circumstances of Casualty states that he was previously reported missing, and then presumed dead at an attack north west of Courcelette, Somme, Picardie, France. Next of Kin was Mr. William Barnes of R. R. No 1, Dreseden, Ontario, memorial registration was sent to that address in 1929. His body was not recovered for burial, his name is listed on the Vimy Memorial, Vimy, Nord Pas de Calais, France.
