In 1886, Arthur T. Bishop, 12, arrived at Montreal, Quebec, via Portland, Maine, USA, in a group of 192 Barnardo boys en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

On October 21, 1901, at Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Arthur Thomas Bishop, 26, laborer, born in England, to William George Bishop and Annie Goodland; and Magdalene Margaret Brownlee, 26, born in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada, to James Brownlee and Matilda Ramsay.

At least 5 children were born: Matilda Gladys Bishop, born May 28, 1902 and died December 27, 1909, acute Poliomyelitis and heart failure, in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada; Arthur Ernest Bishop, born May 28, 1902, in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada; George James Bishop, born July 19, 1911, in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada; Douglas James Bishop, born August 1, 1927, and died November 18, 1989, in Dunnville, Ontario, Canada; and Bessie Violet Bishop, born January 31, 1904, at Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

On January 24, 1932, Arthur Bishop, 57, returned to the United Kingdom on the ship Melita. He declared that his proposed address in the United Kingdom was 126, Hildaville Dr., West-Cliff-on-Sea; that he was a gardner; and that he intended to reside outside of the United Kingdom.
