His Next of Kin was his Sister, Edith Rose Monk of York House, Royal Parade, Eastbourne, Sussex, England. 5' 2 1/2" in height with grey eyes and fair hair, he had scars on his left forearm and a scar across the ball of his thumb. His religion was listed as Wesleyan.

Commonwealth War Graves Registers and Circumstances of Casualty state that he was Killed in Action south of Ypes, West Flanders, Belgium. His Next of Kin was first Mrs. E. R. Monk of York House, Royal Parade, Eastbourne, and then Mr. G. Mauser of 13 Wakefield Road, Brighton, Sussex, England.
