In 1911, Hilda Ellis, 18, is shown as a home worker with Edward A. Murr and family at McKillop, Huron South, Ontario, Canada. Her date of birth is shown as December, 1892, and her immigration year as 1908.

On September 15, 1915, a marriage was registered in Seaforth, Huron, Ontario, Canada, between Hilda Grace Ellis, 22 (daughter of James Ellis and Harriet Batty), and William Henry Kent, 25, carpenter (son of George Valentine Kent and Ida Wilson). Both bride and groom were born in England. The marriage was witnessed by Mr and Mrs William J Beattie of Seaforth, Ontario

On March 22, 1916, Hilda Grace Kent was shown as the next of kin for William Horace Henry Kent, an enlistee in the Canadian Armed Forces. Their address was shown as Rural Route No. 1, Dublin, Ontario, Canada.

In February 1916, a son William George Ellis was born to the couple, he is recorded as dying aged 13 days, cause given as
Purpura fulminans, his father William Horace Kent acted as next of kin, the child was buried in Maitland Bank Cemetery

In May, 1917, a child was born to William and Hilda Kent whom they named Hilda Grace Kent. She was born with spina bifida and only survived for one month, 24 days, dying on July 2, 1917. She was buried at Maitland Bank Cemetery.
