NotesIn 1911, Jeanette McLelland, 11, arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, along with a group of 116 Barnardo girls en route to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

On April 23, 1917, at London, Middlesex, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Jeanette McLelland, 18, born in Colmarie, Scotland, daughter of David McLelland and Dora Burndall; and Frank Sidney Kirk, 23, soldier, born in Medford, Oregon, USA, son of A. Kirk and Lilian Heath.

Frank and Jeanette Kirk were in Tacoma, Pierce, Washington by 1919.

In 1920, Jenatte Kirk, 20, was residing at 1124 No. 27, Tacoma, Pierce, Washington, along with her husband Frank S. Kirk, 26, miller in flour mill, and their daughter, Edith, 4 months. In 1930, Jan V. Kirk, 31, was residing at 805 North 2nd, Tacoma, Pierce, Washington, along with her husband Frank S. Kirk, 36, foreman at Sperry Flour Co., and their children: Edith F. Kirk, 10; Walter F. Kirk, 9; Florence J. Kirk, 8; Evelyn M. Kirk, 3-8/12. Jeanette McLelland Kirk died in 1932, leaving 4 children ages 6-13 years old. She was a member of the Lutheran church. There is a possibility a child was left in Canada.

According to her obituary she had two brothers in Scotland, William and Henry, and her parents, Mr & Mrs John Adamson of England.
