His brother Harry was listed as living in Gordon's Boys Home, Dover, Kent in 1901.

in 1901, Thomas M Youden, 19, farm lab, to John and Addie Porter in Manvers, Durham, Ont.

On 2 January 1906, Thomas William Youden, 24, married Gertrude Hall, in Hope, Durham, Ont. He declared his parents to be Thomas Youden and Mary Ann Janes?.

June 9th 1906, a son William Cecil Youden was born in Osaca, Durham, Ont to Thomas William Youden and Gertrude Hall.

June 6th 1908, a son Charles Burnham Youden was born in Canton, Durham, Ont to Thomas William Youden and Gertrude Hall (There is a note on his birth record that in 1958 he notified the authorities that his name was now Charles Burnham Carlyle).

On 10 1915, Thos Wm E Youden, born 5 December 1880 in Portsmouth, enlisted in Canadian Army. His next of kin was given as Mrs Thomas William E Youden, wife. Her address was given as Port Hope, Durham.

On 3 June 1917, Thomas William Edgar Youden was killed in action while fighting with Canadian Infantry (Alberta Regiment), he was husband to Alice Gertrude Hall. He is remembered on the Vimy memorial.

On 23 July 1917, Gertrude Youden nee Hall, 37, remarried to Alfred Hoad in Durham Co, Ontario.
