In 1910, Sidney Benn, 11, arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in a group of 395 Barnardo children en route to Toronto and Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

On February 26, 1915, at Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Sidney Frank Benn, 20, enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that he was born in England (place unknown); that his next of kin was Ernest Benn, who resided at Duntroon, Ontario, Canada; that his date of birth was December 23, 1894; that he was a farmer; and that he was not married. He was described as 5 foot 9 inches in height; dark complexion; brown hair; brown eyes. He was a member of the Wesleyan faith. He had a vaccination mark on his left arm.

On May 10, 1923, at Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Sidney Benn, 25, police constable (Toronto Police 10 Div.), born in England to Sidney Benn and Mary Turton; and Eva Beatrice Stephen, 23, born in Ontario, Canada, to Alfred Stephen and Emily Burgess.

Sidney Frank and Eva Beatrice Stephens Benn had at least 3 children: 2 children still living and Ernest Lloyd Ben (born March 7, 1928 - died August 27, 1953)

Sidney Frank Benn died April 9, 1951 in Toronto, York County, Ontario, Canada. Eva Beatrice Stephen Benn died April 1, 1972, in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
