NotesFrederick Charles Braun was not an orphan. His mother was left penniless when his father died at the early age of 34 from Consumption (TB). His mother's family were wealthy farmers in Essex England but would not help her as they considered she married 'beneath her'. His father was of German/Jewish origin which was not well regarded in England at that time.

He was placed in Barnardo's along with his brother Ernest William Braun and they arrived in Portland Canada on
28 March 1893 on board the ss 'Labrador'. This information was given by Barnardo's in March 2013. His last known whereabouts was in 1908 when he was living in Pakenham Ontario.

"Since giving the above information I have now discovered that Frederick Charles Braun's last known whereabouts were not in 1908 as he passed away in Winnipeg Manitoba in 1907. He had married the previous year and was united in Winnipeg with his brother Ernest Willaim Braun. I am now in touch with descendants of Ernest William Braun."
