NotesIn 1892, William Milton, 16, arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, along with a group of 303 children en route to Toronto, Ontario, and Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, accompanied by Mr. Owen.

In 1901, William Milton, 25, was shown as a servant on farm for W. John and Ruth M. Wright of Woodworth, Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. His date of birth was shown as November 3, 1875, and his immigration year as 1891.

In 1911, William J. Milton, 34, farmer, was shown residing on his farm in Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada. Other family members included: Elizabeth A Milton, 33 (wife); John Milton, 4 (son); Robert Milton 10 months (son); Henry J. Milton, 31 (brother), farmer; and a lodger, Stanley Paterson, 11.

On March 22, 1929, the Lethbridge (Alberta) Herald reported:

There was an interesting little incident yesterday at Canada House.

A prosperous-looking gentleman, with a heavy fur coat, went up to the impressive doors of the building, and paused there to look through the glass. One of the officials courteously invited him to enter, and entered into conversation with him.

His story was so interesting that he was introduced to the Honorable Peter Larkin, who is always eager to meet Dominion visitors to the Mother Country.

The gentleman was Mr. W. G. Milton, a well-to-do farmer, who owns a splendid holding in Saskatchewan, from which last year he harvested 5,000 bushels of grain. In addition to crop-raising he breeds very fine cattle.

Yet 37 years ago he was a Barnardo boy, who went out as such to try his fortunes in the Dominion. This is his first visit to London since then, and he intend to make the Barnardo homes here his first ports of call.
