In 1883, Alfred Carloss, 13, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 11 children from the Barton Regis Board of Guardians, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England, and en route to Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.

Alfred Carloss, aged 18. From Barton Regis Union. Placed with and still with, William Helmes, Paddock, Kars, King's County, N.B.?I visited Alfred Carloss, found him still with William Helmes; had quite a talk with him. He has a bad cough, which appears to be chronic; well otherwise, and able to do his work. Mr. and Mrs. Helmes like him very much. Alfred says he likes them as well, said he is treated very kindly; they do everything for him. He is in a pretty part; could by no possibility be placed in a better position considering his cough."

On May 17, 1899, at Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, a marriage was registered between Alfred Carloss, 29, carpenter, born in England (G.B.), to Richard and Mary Carloss; and Alice Maud Bond, 22, born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, to James and Mary Ann Bond.

Alfred and Alice Maud Bond Carloss had at least 2 children: Mary Alfreda Carloss, born March 27, 1900, 34 St. Andrews Street, Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada; and Annie Willa Morristo Carloss, born May 3, 1910, 156 Broad Street, Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.
