Notes In 1886, W Taylor, 14, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 9 boys from Barton Regis Union, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England, accompanied by Mr. Bird, and en route to Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.

Wm. Taylor, aged 14. From Barton Regis Union. Now with John Richardson, Annesdale, Parish Johnson, Queen's County, P. O. Address.?Was placed with Andrew Taylor, Stewarton; left, and after being in several places reached Jno. Richardson, called Scotch Settlement, adjoining Griffin's farm. Is well and now contented, so he says. Mr. and Mrs. Richardson like the boy much; he has now a good home if ho will stay in it. After leaving Mr. Taylor he went to Peter Chisholm, was with him a year. Said he did not like Mr. Taylor, and Mr. Chisholm having another boy did not want him. I have reported on this lad to Mrs. Birt, 20 January 1888, who, poor fellow, had a brother who died very suddenly, also reported on by me."
