NotesIn 1884, William White, 13, arrived at Rimouski, Quebec, Canada, in a group of 51 young persons sent by Boards of Guardians, accompanied by Miss Edwards and en route to various places.

"Sixteenth Annual Report of the Local Government Board, 1886-87; Copy of Reports of Inspection of Children sent out to Canada, as of February 12, 1887.

Report of Mr. J. A. Donaldson, Government Immigration Agent, at Toronto, Ontario.

Wm. White, aged 15, from St. Saviour's Union, placed with Father McSpiritt, P.P., Colgan P.O. Employed by the parish priest to look after his horse, &c.; has board and lodging and clothing together with a little pocket money. Father McSpiritt says he shall apprentice him to the milling business."
