"Sixteenth Annual Report of the Local Government Board, 1886-87; Copy of Reports of Inspection of Children sent out to Canada, as of February 12, 1887.
Report of Mr. A. G. Smith, Government Immigration Agent, at London, Ontario.
Kate Bedford, aged 16, from West Derby Union, placed with Mrs. Mays, Guelph, Ontario. Left Mrs. Mays two years ago and engaged with Mrs. McAstocker, of Guelph, for a short time and then went to Mrs. McLaren who has since moved to Toronto. I traced her to Toronto and found her at 332, King street, W., a domestic with Mrs. McLaren who keeps a boarding house. She stated that Kate was a good, honest, and truthful girl, and well able to take care of herself. The girl was well clothed and always enjoys good health."
