"Sixteenth Annual Report of the Local Government Board, 1886-87; Copy of Reports of Inspection of Children sent out to Canada, as of February 12, 1887.
Report of Mr. A. G. Smith, Government Immigration Agent, at London, Ontario.
Harriet Sims, aged 15, from parish of Stoke-upon-Trent, placed with Mrs. John W. Ridley, Park Hill, Ontario ; now with Mrs. Simeon Byce. This girl is now living with Mrs. Simeon Byce, Tp. of Riley, St. Clair Co., Memphis P.O., State of Michigan.
This girl was brought from P. R. Hill, by the Ridley's some time ago, and was offered a home by Mrs. Byce about a year ago. This girl likes Mrs. Byce's home, but Mrs. B. does not intend keeping her, and does not want her any longer than the spring. She is a tidy respectable looking little girl; would make a good nurse girl, and is anxious to come back to Canada. Poorly clothed when they took her. I recommend she be assisted to return to Canada."
