Notes In 1883, Mary A. Doherty, 14, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 35 Roman Catholic children accompanied by Rev. Thomas Seddon, of London, England, and en route to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Mary A. Doherty, aged 14, from Whitechapel Union, placed with Mr. H. Bolduc, notary, Quebec City, in 1883. Went to St. Patrick's Orphanage, Ottawa. November 1884, saw her with P. Merghan, farmer, of Panmure, Carleton Co., Ontario. Well pleased, satisfied, good health, well clad."
