Notes In 1883, Joseph Kavanagh, 10, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 26 Catholic children from Prescot Union Board of Guardians and en route to Father Whelan at St. Patrick Orphanage, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Left Mr. Madden, lived with his former master for three years, who states that he was a good boy for two years; left because ho was chastised by Mr. Madden, is now in receipt of $5 per month, with board, &c."
