Age 12, this boy seems to be rather discontented and complains that they work him too hard, are rather impatient with him, and frequently punish him. Mr Vanwart denies the latter and speaks very highly of Curley, and says that he has done very well. The boy is not robust looking, and in my opinion, is not capable of doing very hard work. He attended school for a time during the winter months, and is a bright intelligent boy. Mr Vanwart is well recommended to me.
