Notes In 1887, George Burns, 11, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 10 boys accompanied by Cardinal Manning en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

George Burns, aged 11. From parish of St. Marylebone. Placed with Rev. Father Kearnan, Schomberg P.O.?A very good lad, and has a good home with the parish priest, who speaks very well of him. He seems happy, and contented with his place."

"George Burns, aged 11. From parish of St. Marylebone. Placed with Father Kearnan, Schomberg P.O. ? Working for the parish priest, who gives him a very good character. Is a strong, healthy looking lad, and appears happy and contented."
