Notes Sent by Greenwich Union
with William McNanny, farmer, P.O Gordonville, Wellington, Ontario
August 31 1900
Age 15, fair home, employed at farm work, general health good, attends Roman Catholic Church, does not attend school, character good, terms-Board and Clothing. This lad states he is satisfied here. They treat him well. He has plenty of clothing. He gives his employer fair satisfaction. Mr McNanny has five children of his own, and Hayes appears to be his only help on the farm. He complains about Hayes uncleanly habits at night, and states that he does not think that he can help being so. He has consulted a physician, and he is at present giving him medicine. He finds him an agreeable boy, but a little slow.

Age 17, fair home, suitable-employed at general farm work, general health good, attends Roman Catholic Church, character good,
Terms-Board and Clothing. Hayes is well fitted for his present employment. There is marked improvement in his general appearance
since I last saw him. He is contented here- a robust looking youth. It would be well for the Society to keep track of him for a few years, as he is, in my opinion, hardly fit to work his own way.
