Notes Sent by St Georges in the East Union
December 7 1900
This boy was emigrated to Canada by the above society during the year 1899 and was placed with a farmer by the name of McCarthy, P O Fieldville, Quebec. McCarthy after keeping him a short time returned him to the Superintendant as unsuitable. He was next placed with Michael O'Leary, P O Whitney, Ontario. He also returned him to the Superintendant. He was then placed with Michael Mahoney, P O Farrelton, Quebec, he remained with Mr Mahoney for three months when he also returned him to the Home. After having a personal interview with the boy, I am of the opinion that he is unable to take proper care of himself and is mentally weak. The Superintendant is undecided at this point as to what course she will adopt with reference to this unfortunate boy.

with Thomas O'Connor, Greeley, Carleton, Ontario

Age 17, suitable home, employed at farming, health-at present he states good, attends Roman Catholic Church, character good-not overly bright, terms-Board and Clothing. This youth left Mr Powers some time ago and has been here since June last. He is not a strong youth and informs me he is subject to weak turns after walking any distance. His progress is not satisfactory, and he is
really not a good type. He should receive at least a nominal wage, and I so informed Mrs O'Connor. He complains of sometimes being roughly treated by O'Connor Junior
