Notes Sent by Holborn Union
with Edward Adams, farmer, P.O South Gloucester, Carleton, Ontario
November 29 1900
Age 15, a plain, comfortable farm home, employed at farm chores, a robust boy, attends Roman Catholic Church, not school, character-good generally-inclined to be disagreeable they say. Terms-Board and Clothing and $10 per year. This boy does not
appear to suit his employer, and Mrs Adams states he has not made very good progress since coming here. They will in all probability return him to 'New Orpington Lodge'. Overbury states that he is satisfied here, but I am of the opinion he might do better
in another place.
