Notes In 1885, Jeremiah Collins, 12, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 43 Roman Catholic children accompanied by Cardinal Manning and en route to Rimouski, Quebec, Ottawa and Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Jeremiah Collins, aged 13, from parish of St. Pancras, placed with St. Nicholas Institute, Toronto. This boy was placed with a farmer near Beaverton, but was sent back after a time as being utterly useless; has since been living at the Institute, Toronto, where they say he is only a burden to them, being good at nothing."
