Notes John Warren was the second son of James Alfred Warren born in Redditch, England in 1868 (Roman Catholic) He was a Needle Polisher at the Needle Industry in Redditch. John is also the son of Francis (Fanny) Fields, daughter of Mr. ? and Ann Field of 33 Silver Street, Redditch, Worsc. Fanny worked as a hop picker around Worcestershire in summer and domestic work in Redditch at other times. John's eldest brother was Charles Warren, and Edward John Warren was born after John. (Edward J. Warren was my father so therefore John Warren was my uncle.)
Edward John Warren and John Warren were residents of the St. Edwards Orphanage, West Malvern, Worcestershire, England.
In 1920, John Warren, 14, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 57 boys from the Catholic Emigration Association and en route to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
John died on the 23rd of November, 1936, orphan living with John Burke at Thurso and was buried in buried in a graveyard (St. Gregory's church)in Buckingham, Quebec, Canada. He was 29 years of age even though his death certificate says he was 39 years of age. (confirmed by my father...Edward John Warren) His death was the result of an accidental shooting of a discharged rifle. He suffered severely from shock and loss of blood.
I got my information mostly from the Public Archives of Ottawa, Ontario. His last known address was Thurso, Quebec, Canada.
My father Edward John Warren was in hospital in Ottawa at this time and received word of his brother's death....they had planned to soon meet again unfortunately it did not come to place.
Some of the above information came from the local newspaper at that time, the date of the newspaper was November 27th, 1936
