In 1920, Edward Warren, 11, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 37 children from the Catholic Emigration Association and en route to Ottawa, Ontario.
He was placed with Tom Morrisey and family in Darnyville, Ontario first, then at the age of 13 he went to Vonasta, Qubec to Jack McCaffrey, and later to Kazabazua to Jim Hogan where he stayed for 3 yrs. and 3 months. He was treated badly, like a slave and remembers practically running these farms on his own. He was beaten, starved and treated terrible of which caused him to suffer all of his life from Osteomylitis a bone/hip disease however Edward was strong minded and strong willed and ended up working hard between bouts of illness to build a home for his family and cared for his children until the day he died at the age of 83.
