In 1891, Mabel Prest Cassidy, 1 year of age, was shown residing at 23 Lees Yard, South East Leeds, Yorkshire, England. Other family members included: Arthur Cassidy, 2 months; Mary Ann Cassidy, 28; and Thomas Cassidy, 30, boot finisher. In 1901, Lily Cassidy, 4 years of age, was shown as an inmate in the Leeds Union Workhouse School, Leeds, Yorkshire, England. (Source: 1901 Census of England; Class: RG13; Piece: 4227; Folio: 74; Page: 1.) Her sister, Mabel Cassidy, 9; and brother, Arthur Cassidy, 10, were shown as inmates an an unnamed school/institution run by Annie Farkin, matron, at 34 Springfield Terrace, Leeds, Yorkshire, England.

In 1905, Lily Cassidy, 11, arrived at Quebec, Canada, along with a group of 41 children from the Catholic Emigration Association en route to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. (Brother, Arthur Cassidy, 14, arrived in Canada on the Bavarian in 1905; and sister Mabel Cassidy, 11, arrived in 1905 on the Bavarian.)

According to her admission records, Lily's last employer was Mrs. W. T. Jennings, Sheenboro, Pontiac, Quebec, Canada.

Lily was last seen sending her brother, Arthur Cassidy, off overseas during World War I, distraught at the idea of once again being separated from her brother with whom she had recently been reunited. No amount of searching ever located her and her brother pined over this all his life.
