NotesIn 1887, Stephen Portsmouth, 14, arrived with three other "lads from Maidenhead Farm, Cookham Union, England" in a party of 57 persons from Church Emigration Society Group, 9, Victoria Chambers, Westminster, London, and en route to Rev. Sterne Light at Lansdowne, Ontario, Canada.

"Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888.

Report of Mr. John A. Donaldson, Government Immigration Agent at Toronto.

Henry Harris, aged 14. From Brentford Union. Placed with Mr. Toat, Avenue road, Toronto.?Not a reliable boy, in fact does not suit at all, and Mr. Toat intends returning him to Rev. Mr. Darling, from whom he had him."
