Next of Kin was his Mother, Mrs. Annie Goddard of 49 Beulah Road, Sutton, Surrey, England. 5'5 1/2" in height with hazel eyes and light brown hair. His religion was listed as Methodist.

Commonwealth War Graves Registers states that Alfred died at East Suffolk Hospital, affiliated with 1st General Military Hospital in Colchester, of Pneumonia. He was buried at Sutton and Cheam Cuddington Cemetery, Worchester Park, London, England. Plot G, Grave 177.
