NotesIn 1887, Elizabeth McCann, 9 (along with sister, Mary Ann McCann, 4), arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 96 children from Catholic Children Protection Society, Liverpool, England, accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Lacy, and en route to Hotel Dieu, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

"Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888.

Report of Mr. W. J. Wills, Government Immigration Agent at Ottawa.

Elizabeth McCann, aged 10. From Birkenhead Union. Placed with J. Kelly, Montague, Con. 2, Merrickville P.O., Ontario.?Is well placed.

Elizabeth McCann, aged 9. From Birkenhead Union. Placed with John Kelly, Merrickville P.O., Lot 11 in 1st Con., Montague Tp.? Stubborn, impertinent and difficult to manage, but improving; attends school, 2nd reader, in excellent home, will be well cared for if can be kept under control, delighted with her home."
