Notes In 1887, Edward Clarke, 13, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 96 children from Catholic Children Protection Society, Liverpool, England, accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Lacy, and en route to Hotel Dieu, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
"Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888.
Report of Mr. W. J. Wills, Government Immigration Agent at Ottawa.
Edw. Clarke, aged 14. From Wolverhampton Union. Placed with Jas. Turney, Bnckingham Tp., Co. Ottawa.?Must have received wrong address as there is no person of the name of Turney either in the village or township of Buckingham.

Edward Clarke, aged 13. From Wolverhampton Union. Said to be with James Tunney, Buckingham (but think there is an error in address).?No person of that name could be found in or about Buckingham. Drove to Michael Tunney's, and was there informed there was no other of the name. Cannot report this boy without correct address of guardian."
