Notes In 1887, James Sheridan, 8 (along with brother, John Sheridan, 12), arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 96 children from Catholic Children Protection Society, Liverpool, England, accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Lacy, and en route to Hotel Dieu, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
"Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888.

James Sheridan, aged 8. From West Derby Union. Placed with Mary Scanlon, Earl and Albert Sts., City of Kingston.?Would not do what was desired of him, found unsuitable, and returned to "Hotel Dieu" after keeping two months.
Jas. Sheridan, aged 8. From West Derby Union. Placed with John Cassady, Tp. of Camden East, Hinch P.O.?Mrs. John Walsh reports this child to have died about the end of September last (formerly reported) having been with Mrs. Scanlan, Kingston."
