Notes In 1887, John Wood, 10, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 96 children from Catholic Children Protection Society, Liverpool, England, accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Lacy, and en route to Hotel Dieu, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

John Woods, aged 11. From parish of Liverpool. Placed with Florence Mahoney, Glen Smail P.O., Co. Glengarry, Ontario. Placed with a farmer who is fairly comfortable, but has the name of being rather hard and severe to his own children.
