Notes In 1887, Charles Riley, 10, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 129 children from Catholic Children Protection Society, Liverpool, England, accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Lacy, and en route to Hotel Dieu, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Charles Riley, aged 10. From parish of Liverpool. Placed with Patrick Blake, Lot 8 in 5th Con., Pittsburgh, Cushendale P.O.?Good boy in every respect, well cared for, in good home, with which he is greatly pleased ; not attending school, will during winter."
