Notes In 1887, Sarah Hughes, 14, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 129 children from Catholic Children Protection Society, Liverpool, England, accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Lacy, and en route to Hotel Dieu, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Sarah Hughes, aged 14. From parish of Stoke-on-Trent. Placed with Luther Harris, Lot 3 in 13th Con., of Wolfe Island.?Well cared for, in good home, giving satisfaction, pleased with her place and treatment, will be sent to school during winter."
