Notes In 1887, Henry Hopkins, 9, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 129 children from Catholic Children Protection Society, Liverpool, England, accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Lacy, and en route to Hotel Dieu, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Henry Hopkins, aged 9. From parish of Stoke-on-Trent. Placed with William Devlin, Hunter Street, Peterborough Town.?Said to have been in filthy state when received, lousy and broken-out sores and sore eyes, not in fit state to attend school, think of returning him."
