Notes In 1887, William Higgins, 13, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 96 children from Catholic Children Protection Society, Liverpool, England, accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Lacy, and en route to Hotel Dieu, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
"Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888.

William Higgins, aged 13. Prom parish of Liverpool. Said to be with John Mahon, Lot 3 in 4th Con., Tp. of Kitley.?Spent much time driving and inquiring for this man, could not trace any John Mahon in Kitley Tp.; Rev. Fr. Spratt, of Toledo P.O., Kitley Tp., said no man of that name in his parish or in Kitley Tp.; cannot report this boy without more correct address, there must be an error."
